This policy explains what personal information Al-Amin Data Strategy, LLC collects through alamindatastrategy.com, what I do with it, and the choices you have. I'm Dr. Malik Al-Amin, the firm's founder, and I'm the person who reads what you send.
What I collect
When you use the contact form, I collect your name, your email address, the inquiry type you select, and anything you write in the Executive Brief field. If you email me directly, I collect your email address and whatever your message contains.
When you browse the site, my website host, Squarespace, automatically collects standard technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, the page that referred you, and the time of your visit. Squarespace uses cookies to do this. I see this information only as aggregate traffic reports.
Please don't put confidential information, protected health information, or anything you aren't authorized to share into the contact form. A first conversation doesn't need it.

I don't sell personal information, and I don't share it for advertising. Using the contact form doesn't add you to any mailing list.
Who I share it with
Squarespace, which hosts the site, stores form submissions, and provides site analytics. Squarespace's own privacy policy covers how it handles that data.
My email provider, which delivers form submissions and our correspondence.
Professional advisors, such as my attorney or accountant, when needed.
Government authorities, when the law requires it.
No one else.
How long I keep it
I keep inquiry information as long as I need it to respond and to keep a record of our conversation. If we work together, I keep it for the length of the engagement plus any period my contract or the law requires. You can ask me to delete it sooner.
Cookies and Do Not Track
Squarespace sets cookies that the site needs to work and to measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work properly if you do. The site doesn't respond to browser Do Not Track signals, because no common standard for them exists. No third-party advertising or tracking service collects information about you across other websites through this site.
Your choices
You can ask me to show you, correct, or delete the personal information I hold about you. Email malik@alamindatastrategy.com. I'll confirm the request comes from you and respond within 45 days. If you live in California, Texas, or another state with its own privacy law, you may have additional rights under that law, and I'll honor requests made under it.
Security
I protect what you send with reasonable safeguards, including access controls on the accounts that hold it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so I can't promise absolute security.
Children
This site is for business use. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I'll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
